How To Change a Life

Step 1:
Shove the contents of your apartment into you car.
Didn't get a picture of the car, but here is my mid-move desk shot, pre car-loading:

Step 2:
Find a home for desk, bed, bookshelves, peanut butter, beans, and swirly couch.

                                                              Step 3:
Drive from old life to new life, through many storms.

Step 4:
Petition family members to help unload car, proceed to explode contents of car, formerly known as contents of apartment, all over the living/dining room of an overly generous aunt.

Step 5:
Enjoy new life and the pleasures of having family around.
Post a picture of a napping cousin online:

Step 6:
Introduce cousin's daughter to the joys of photo booth.

Step 7: Switch around sleeping/living schedule. Rather than sleeping from 3 AM to 11 Am, go to bed at 10:15 and wake up at 7. You'll be ready for bed, after spending your days swimming, eating, and watcing movies. Share bed with a five year old who hasn't gotten over the novelty of a new cousin.  Wake up to small feet digging into your back, and spend another 15 minutes in the morning with photo booth before heading off to explore this new world.

                                                     Welcome.

Sad Eye

One more pre-party pic- I got my hair cut that day, and I'm pretty sure it is uneven. I noticed at the salon, but never speak up about that kind of stuff. Ah, well. Oh-Blah-Di. Click the link- did you know that it supposedly actually means "life goes on"? Fascinating. And...I never really knew about the "list of songs deemed inappropriate by Clear Channel following the September 11, 2001 attacks", but apparently this one was on it.  I always thought it was a song of ... hope... but I guess I don't know everything. Maybe I just I always thought "Life Goes On" was such a great show back in the day.

*KLOK* !! Wedding Weekend!

So July 16th I flew home to Oklahoma for Shannon's Wedding!!!! It really was a crazy-fun weekend.

Before Shannon's "Last Fling Before the Ring" party, we got glammed up. Shannon had a trial hair/make-up run that afternoon, so she was fancy!

Winner of the "best butt" contest. There were only two contestants. Shannon judged.

Not sure what I thought, I'm sure my joy shows on my face. He was very nice though.

Shannon looks like a Barbie. I love it! We made her cart her balloons around all evening... we know how to start a party.

Ready for the Rehearsal dinner. I know it looks like it was me and Shannon getting married, but it's an illusion. She just couldn't see Jeff too much  before the wedding... so I got to!

Shannon in her crazy-beautiful dress, me failing at catching the bouquet - I was bummed. All of the bride's maids in Tiffany blue. Guys, if you don't know what that means, you should be buying more jewelry for your women.

A beautiful dream

I'm at my aunt and uncle's house in Fort Worth- my entire car has been unloaded into their garage/dining room.
It has been fun so far-
A cousin and his wife and daughter are here for the weekend as well, and it is actually really fun to just be surrounded by family.

I will admit that I am a bit distracted though, I wasn't quite ready to leave Tallahassee, and it was a really long drive.

I've heard life compared to a video game before, A Fork in the Road: The Tallahassee Time
in a rather interesting story that I actually have a small role in, but I would say that this journey was a bit like that as well.
I started off on a journey, armed with a gift of beefjerky, and along the way conveniently met people that would assist me in ways that I needed. I met Eric Peterson - he ended up stopping at the hotel for the night, in order to protect me from dangerous strangers, and had a lunch today with another cousin, who gave me a map and advice on finishing my quest to Fort Worth.

However, most of my trip was spent listening to music, singing loudly, and wishing that I had something to write with.
I feel that my level of angst at the moment is such that I could easily be churning out copious amounts of words: lyrics, poems, or short stories. I had so many great ideas today, I'm sure of it! I just had no way to notate, other than a few ridiculous haikus that I texted to myself. Haha. Nerd. The few other bits i do remember I'll have to work through soon. I should get one of these for future trips, or to just find something positive in all the time I'll be spending driving while in Texas.

Pictures from Shannon's bachelorette party coming soon!

Goodbye Tallaclassy

You wouldn't believe how hard it is to give stuff away in this town.
Maybe people are suspicious- you want to GIVE me a couch? What's the catch?
There is one actually- I'm desperate. Please come take my furniture away! Its pretty, and functional, and FREE.

Can a  haiku have punctuation?

swirly couch is sad
please take me to your house now!
pretty! sleep and sit

and on your way out maybe carry a box of books to my car for me too.

tallahassee has been pretty incredible this summer. I think I'm made some friends that will last a long time, and have met some people that really just make the idea of life better. However sad I am about leaving, I'm leaving feeling rather content.

See you in Fort Worth!

p.s. Shannon got married! pictures soon to come hopefully, until then, that lovely picture will have to do.

Sometimes I feel like writing, like maybe there is no other way to get some things off of my mind.
Maybe I should go back to my journaling ways, until I find something blog-worthy.

Chillin like a villain.

Pretty much rockin it hard in tallahassee these days.... i.e. reading, sleeping, job searching, painting by number, practicing, and daydreaming about getting a dog.

Really need a job, and will keep looking! Anyone need an animal loving bassoonist to work for them? Music is very soothing, you know.
